Private lesson rates start between $25-60+/Hour, depending on location, date, time, frequency of lessons, and number of students per lesson.
Amethyst is the only instructor in Pittsburgh currently certified by the Bellydance Superstar Ansuya!

Amethyst's specialty is Bellydance Electronica--mixing raver-style moves with bellydance moves to create a unique exploration of electronic music. All Levels Welcome.World Fusion Style Bellydance
Amethyst has been studying world fusion style bellydance for 10+ years, teaching since 2001. World Fusion style bellydance blends American, Middle Eastern and other international dance moves. Amethyst's World Fusion Style private lessons prepare the beginner or intermediate level student to dance solo (improvised or choreographed) pieces as well as group choreographed pieces (for performances, or just for fun). Amethyst breaks down moves very well for beginner students so that they may gain the confidence and coordination to understand and perform bellydance moves. Amethyst provides a challenge to intermediate students with drills and combinations which provide great exercise!Sacred Dance
Amethyst teaches Sacred Dance lessons, which lead the student to combine mind, body and spirit practices. These practices promote health, well-being, relaxation, positivity and creativity. Creative Visualization, Meditation, Breathing Techniques, Movement and Dance (Including Bellydance) are all taught as part of these lessons. These lessons are open to all, and do not exclude any spiritual path.Mother/Daughter Lessons
People of all ages can bellydance!Bellydance is a beautiful, ancient artform,
which often has the ability to strengthen the bond between mother and daughter, regardless of age!

If you have a younger child, please note: Amethyst has over 10 years experience working with children,
and has worked as a preschool teacher, daycare primary caregiver, and children's entertainer.
Private Workshop Parties (rate differs from those of individual Private Lessons)
